FC 24 Season 9 Preseason: A Disappointing Finale Before FC 25

FC24

Welcome back to another FC 24 update from FUTFC.gg. Season 9 Preseason is now live, offering players a chance to earn rewards for the upcoming FC 25 Ultimate Team. However, the reaction to this new season is far from positive. With just 27 days left until FC 25, players are expected to grind through the levels, but the rewards are sparking widespread disappointment.

Season 9 Preseason Rewards: Are They Worth the Effort?

The most significant reward for reaching Level 30 in Season 9 is an 84×5 player pack, which will be redeemable in FC 25 Ultimate Team. While this might sound enticing, the reality is that players already have access to unlimited 84×10 packs in the current game, making these new rewards seem underwhelming. Many players expected something more substantial, such as high-rated icon picks or exclusive cards, but instead, they are left with rewards that feel repetitive and lackluster.

For example, players can earn packs like 83×10, 85×7, and even an 88×5 throughout the season. But these rewards don’t stand out in a game where high-rated packs and player picks have become the norm. Additionally, the final reward, a “Great of the Game” Ronaldinho card, feels like a missed opportunity. While Ronaldinho remains a valuable card, the timing of this reward—just weeks before the new game—leaves much to be desired.

Why This Season Falls Short

One of the main criticisms of Season 9 is its lack of creativity. Many in the community have pointed out that this season could have included exciting new player picks, such as a 96+ Icon Player Pick, or featured exclusive items related to FC 25, such as preseason challenges that impact the next game. Instead, the season pass is filled with rewards that players can already obtain with little effort, diminishing the motivation to grind through the levels.

Moreover, the content of the season pass feels lazy to many in the community. Despite the abundance of confirmed player transfers across leagues, EA has not introduced any special objectives or themed content around these changes. The absence of such content suggests that EA may have shifted its focus away from FC 24, leaving players with a lackluster experience in the final stretch before FC 25.

Is It Time to Look Beyond FC 24?

The overall structure of this season pass indicates that EA might have already given up on FC 24. With players having access to incredibly cheap and high-rated cards, such as 97-rated Lorente for just 35k coins, the incentive to grind for the season pass rewards is minimal. The current state of the game, with infinitely repeatable SBCs like the 84×10 pack, only reinforces the idea that the game’s lifecycle is coming to a close.

For players looking to make the most out of the current FC 24 season and prepare for FC 25, it might be more beneficial to focus on securing top-tier rewards in competitive modes like FUT Champs and Rivals. However, with the lack of meaningful updates and engaging content in Season 9, many players might find themselves disengaged as they await the launch of FC 25.
