The 18-year-old Dane defeated his RBLZ Gaming teammate in the Grand Final in Germany.

Eight nations participated in the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament in Germany this weekend, where a total of $100,000 was on the line.

Seven qualifiers joined the hosting nation Germany in the single-elimination bracket, where the players had been seeded according to their performances in the qualifying phase. In the Quarter-Finals three out of the four matches were nail-biters with only Anders “Vejrgang” Vejrgang advancing comfortably with a 5-2 win against Andrey “ST92” Shakalov from Ukraine.

Yuval “YuvalBeli” Blizovsky (Israel), Mert “iMertAL” Altıntop (Turkey), and Andreas “AndreasAa” Aarstad (Norway) also came short in the Quarter-Finals.

The Semi-Finals once again saw Anders “Vejrgang” Vejrgang winning with a 5-2 score, this time against Spain’s Adrián “AdriCifuentes” Cifuentes. Italy’s Francesco “Obrun2002” Tagliafierro lost 4-3 to Umut “Umut” Gültekin, who lived up to the expectations of qualifying for the Grand Final on home soil.

The two RBLZ Gaming players Umut “Umut” Gültekin and Anders “Vejrgang” Vejrgang faced each other in the Grand Final, where $30,000 was on the line for first place. Here Vejrgang defeated the German winning 4-3 in a closely fought final.

“It is always an honor to pull on the red and white shirt. To become the first EA FC European champion ever is an absolutely fantastic feeling. I am really happy and proud that I can now lift the trophy for Denmark,” Vejrgang said after the win.

Despite only being 18 years old Anders “Vejrgang” Vejrgang has now amassed almost $400,000 in winnings during his career. The Dane has won the DFB-ePOKAL 2024 and finished second at the FC Pro 24 Open event here in 2024.
