Cristiano Ronaldo and Clàudia Pina headline Cornerstone team 2 in FC 26

The second promo Friday of FC 26 is set to be huge with Cornerstone team 2 leaked and two massive names grabbing attention: Cristiano Ronaldo and Clàudia Pina. Ronaldo’s card gets a major pace upgrade along with the low-driven plus playstyle, making him one of the most sought-after attackers early in the cycle. Pina’s inclusion is just as eye-catching. The Barcelona star is already one of the most hyped players in the women’s game and her new card receives boosts in both pace and shooting that will make her extremely expensive on the market.

The leaked team includes a mix of established stars, exciting youngsters, and useful budget options. Florian Wirtz receives a balanced upgrade across pace, shooting and passing, while Trent Alexander-Arnold gets incisive pass plus and could even be usable in midfield if EA provide alternate positions. João Neves and Alejandro Balde headline the mid-tier group with both expected to be highly usable and linkable.

From the women’s side, Millie Bright and Kim Little feature as defensive and midfield anchors. Elisabeth Terland appears as well, giving Premier League links with a versatile attacking option. In goal, Jordan Pickford has a special card that could prove popular in early squads. At left back, Christian Günter’s 84-rated card with 88 pace and 87 physical looks like a classic cheap beast. Carla García Gill and Marten de Roon add depth to the lower tier which still looks more attractive than Cornerstone team 1.

Overall, cornerstone team 2 appears stronger in the 85–86 rating range than last week’s selection, offering a wider pool of usable cards that should keep pack openings exciting.

The Mbappe SBC is without a doubt the most expensive in FC 26

While cornerstone team 2 is strong, the biggest shock today comes from leaks around Kylian Mbappe’s Player of the Month SBC. According to trusted sources like Fut Police on Twitter, this challenge could release today, possibly even before the standard 6 p.m. UK content update.

The leaked version is expected to remain 91-rated but with the rapid plus playstyle and minor stat upgrades. Despite the small improvement, the cost is absolutely staggering. It is without question the most expensive SBC of FC 26 so far and one of the priciest in Ultimate Team history, with costs rumored between 3 and 4 million coins.

For comparison, Cristiano Ronaldo’s special SBC in FIFA 22 required 26 squads and cost around 2.5 million coins. Mbappe’s challenge is expected to exceed 30 squads with multiple 85 to 88 rated team requirements and heavy reliance on Team of the Week cards.

Very few players will realistically complete the challenge, but the impact on the transfer market will be huge. High-rated fodder such as 87, 88 and 89 rated cards are already climbing in value and if several in-form squads are required, Team of the Week prices will also surge. Even if only a fraction of the community completes the SBC, demand will push fodder to some of its highest levels of the year.

Mbappe’s gold card may also react. With the SBC being so expensive, many players will simply opt for his base version instead, which could create a rebound in its price before a weekend dip once supply from packs increases.
