- Ultimate Plus (10,000 Points): Distributed in five equal increments (2,000 points per month). Your first drop hits upon login, and the remaining 8,000 are dripped out by the 15th of the next four months. You must log in by June 1, 2027, to claim the full balance.
If you rely on day-one pack openings to build your early coin balance, this heavily nerfs the immediate launch-day advantage of the premium editions.
The “93+ Icon” Trap: Read the Fine Print
When looking at the pre-order bonuses, it is easy to think, “Wow, a 93+ Icon Player Pick at the start of FC 27 is an insane advantage!” However, you need to read the fine print.
That 93+ OVR Icon Player Pick (and the Standard Edition’s 92+ Icon) is strictly categorized in the legal disclaimers as FC 26 Content. You do not get a massive, game-breaking Icon to start your FC 27 Ultimate Team. That card is only injected into your current FC 26 account to incentivize your pre-order just weeks before that game’s cycle dies.
- (Note: If you do still want that FC 26 card, you must pre-order before August 31st. After that date, the Ultimate Edition reward downgrades from a 1-of-4 Pick to a random 93+ item).
The early-game advantages you actually receive for FC 27 are far more modest. Ultimate Edition owners receive an untradeable 85+ OVR International ICON (which doesn’t upgrade until late November), while Ultimate Plus owners get a 1-of-5 Hall of FUT Player Pick featuring fun, but lower-rated cult heroes like Adebayo Akinfenwa or Marouane Fellaini.
Platform Restrictions
EA’s legal text also outlines several strict platform restrictions that could completely invalidate your premium purchase if you play on certain hardware.
- The Ultimate Plus Exclusion: The $149.99 Ultimate Plus Edition is completely unavailable for purchase on the Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
- The Grounds Cosmetics Void: All pre-orders include “The Grounds Signature Sweatsuit” and a “Tier 3 Amp Inspired by Mbappé.” However, these cosmetic items are entirely incompatible with the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game due to hardware limitations regarding the new open-world mode.
