How to unlock the FC 27 David Luiz Evolution
The evo is a reward for FC 27 Club Membership. EA’s rule is simple: play FC 26 and FC 27 before the deadline on 1 November. If you have already played both games this year, you should not need to do anything else. EA adds that conditions and restrictions apply, so check the Club Membership page in-game if you are unsure.
From 1 November, open the Evolution menu and look in the Rewards section. You then pick one of your own eligible players and apply the evo to them.
A short reminder of how Pathway Evolutions work in FC 27:
- The player becomes untradeable once the evo is applied.
- While the evo is running, you can’t discard the player or use them in SBCs.
- You can switch path at any time until you claim a level, even during the claim.
- Every upgrade has a cap, so check your player’s base stats to see what they actually gain.
The three David Luiz paths
Each path is built around a moment from David Luiz’s career, and each one ends with a PlayStyle. EA hasn’t given the numbers yet, only the attributes each path boosts.
| Path | Inspired by | Attribute upgrades | PlayStyle |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Finisher | His free kick for Brazil against Colombia at the 2014 World Cup | Shooting, Free Kick Accuracy, Shot Power, Long Shots | Dead Ball |
| The Champion | The 2012 Champions League final win with Chelsea, where he scored in the shootout | Defending, Physical, Passing, Penalties | A defensive PlayStyle |
| A National Hero | His return to Brazil with Flamengo and the 2022 Copa Libertadores win | Pace, Physical, Passing, Aggression | A build-up PlayStyle |
Which path should you pick?
The Champion looks like the safest choice for a centre-back, since defending and physical are what matter most in the FC 27 meta. A National Hero adds pace, which helps slower ball-playing defenders and defensive midfielders. The Finisher is the niche pick: it suits a midfielder or forward who takes your free kicks.
We’ll know more once EA shows the eligibility rules. If the evo is limited to defenders, The Finisher will mostly be a fun option rather than a meta one.
What the leak showed
Two leakers had the evo hours before EA’s article went up. AsyFutTrader posted the three paths on Tuesday evening at 7:33pm CET, and FutSheriff called it confirmed a few minutes later.
The leaked image showed an 85-rated CB David Luiz card for Brazil. EA’s article does not mention a rating and describes the reward as a Pathway Evolution you apply to an eligible player, so treat the 85 card as leaked, not confirmed. We’ll update this page when EA shows the requirements on 1 November.
Other FC 27 Club Member rewards
The David Luiz evo is not the only thing Club Members get. EA lists these rewards too:
- Red Bull-branded kits and crests in Ultimate Team
- An AXP multiplier in The Grounds (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2 only)
- Gareth Bale in Manager Career and Player Career
EA says more Club Member rewards will follow as FC 27 heads towards the new year. For every evo that is live right now, see our FC 27 Evolutions hub, and for the latest drops our Tonight in FC 27 for 27 October.
