There are 17 time-limited SBCs live in FC 27 tonight, plus 10 permanent ones. The best value is still the Max 87 Base Hero Upgrade at about 109K coins, well below Tuesday’s 125K, and the cheap 2x 83+ Upgrade if you have spare 84s. The most expensive is Raphinha’s LALIGA Player of the Month at about 1.23M. Tonight’s drop added a new week of Marquee Matchups (about 16.4K), and Johan Manzambi and the TOTW Upgrade end tomorrow at 6pm UK.

This list was taken after tonight’s 6pm UK drop, which only added a new week of Marquee Matchups. Ultimate Scream is expected on Friday 23 October at 6pm UK, according to leakers, but EA has not confirmed it yet. Leakers say an 85-rated Woltemade SBC comes with it. We update this page as new SBCs go live, and you can follow each evening’s drop in our Tonight in FC 27 posts.

Expiry dates are worked out from fut.gg’s countdowns on Thursday at 20:10 CEST, so an SBC can end a few hours either side of the date shown. Costs are fut.gg’s cheapest route on console. They move every day, and they usually climb on the first night of a big SBC because everyone buys the same fodder.
Best FC 27 SBCs to do this week
This is our opinion, based on today’s fut.gg prices and what the rewards do for a normal squad.
- Max 87 Base Hero Upgrade (~109K): the pick of the week. On Tuesday it cost about 125K, and at that price 34 of the 62 Heroes in the pool were worth more on the market. It dipped under 100K on Thursday afternoon and is about 109K tonight, and it refreshes every 3 days, so you should get a second go before Sunday. The Hero is untradeable, so do it for your team, not for profit. Check your pull in our Max 87 Hero SBC pull checker.
- Premier League POTM Pascal Groß (~18.1K): a cheap 84-rated midfielder for a Premier League squad. fut.gg voters like it too: 94% of votes are positive.
- 2x 83+ Upgrade (~5.5K): a fodder swap. You hand in about seven 84s and get two 83+ golds back. Do it every time it refreshes, but only with cards you already own.
- Johan Manzambi (~47.8K): last call, he leaves on Friday at 6pm UK. If you need a defensive midfielder, he is at the low end of last week’s 45K to 58K.
- Wait on Raphinha: 1.23M for an 89 is a lot when leakers say a 90-rated Ultimate Scream Raphinha is in packs from Friday. See our Ultimate Scream Team 1 leaks.
Our skips: Assane Diao (fast, but 73 composure and 76 passing for 39K, see our Diao SBC review), Ferran Torres at 117K, and the 1 of 3 79+ pick, which rarely pays back its cost.
How do Streamlined SBCs and Item Score work?
FC 27 has two kinds of SBC. EA calls the new one Streamlined in its Pitch Notes and Simplified in its help pages. The old one, now called a puzzle SBC, still needs a full squad.
- Streamlined SBCs: no chemistry, positions or squad rating. You pick eligible cards from your club until their combined Item Score reaches the target. EA uses this format for most Player and Upgrade SBCs.
- Item Score: every player card has one, based on its OVR, rarity and Holographic status. Each OVR has a base score, and the rarity and Holographic bonuses stack on top. It is the same score the FUT Gallery uses.
- Duplicates count: you can submit duplicates and several versions of the same player.
- Partial progress is saved: you can hand in some cards now and finish later. The cards you submit are gone at once, even if you never finish.
- Overshoot warning: if your cards are worth far more than the target, the game warns you before you submit.
- Puzzle SBCs: the classic format with squad rating, chemistry, quality, league, nation and club rules. Marquee Matchups, Future Stars Challenge 4 and the 1 of 3 79+ pick are puzzle SBCs right now.
Some Streamlined SBCs set a minimum rating for each card. All of today’s live Player and Upgrade SBCs only ask for 45 OVR or higher per card, according to fut.gg. Streamlined SBCs also work in the Companion App since 28 September.
If a Streamlined SBC expires before you finish, you don’t get your cards back. Instead you get an untradeable pack based on the Item Score you put in. A few of EA’s bands:

Those packs are worth far less than the cards you hand in, so treat them as a safety net, not a plan. Only start a big SBC if you can finish it before it expires.
FC 27 SBC types: upgrades, repeatables, players and Heroes
- Upgrade SBCs: swap cards for a pack. Right now that is the 2x 83+ Upgrade (refreshes every 2 days), the TOTW Upgrade (one player from TOTW 1 to 5) and the Max 87 Base Hero Upgrade (refreshes every 3 days).
- Permanent repeatables: Gold Upgrade (~7.3K, Small Gold Players Pack), Silver and Bronze Upgrades (~2.2K each), Gold Re-Roll (1,250 score, ~2.2K, 2x 78+ Gold Players Pack) and Bronze and Silver Re-roll (500 score, ~2.2K, 75+ Gold Player Pack). They are for clearing out cards you already own. Don’t buy fodder for them.
- One-off foundations: Intro to SBCs, Intro to Upgrade SBCs, Intro to Streamlined SBCs, Intro to Player SBCs (Squad Foundations Cristian Espinoza) and League and Nation Advanced (a Jumbo Gold Pack and 5,000 coins). Do these once early in the year.
- Player SBCs: Future Stars cards, league Player Picks and the September Players of the Month. All are single Streamlined challenges with an untradeable reward.
- Hero and ICON SBCs: the Max 87 Base Hero Upgrade is the only Hero SBC live today, and there is no ICON SBC on fut.gg right now. The earlier Max 86 Hero and the Base Hero Matchday Pick have both ended.
Player Picks are the cheapest way into a promo card: the MLS, NWSL and Liga Portugal picks all cost under 16K. They only make sense if one of the four players fits your league, though. For an Evo route, see our FC 27 Evolutions guide.
How to complete FC 27 SBCs cheaply
- Use 84-rated golds: fut.gg’s Streamlined solver shows the cheapest route to almost every target is a big pile of 84-rated rare golds. A 100K score costs about 84,600 coins that way (118 of them plus one 85). Fewer, higher-rated cards cost more but take less time.
- Hand in duplicates and untradeables first: duplicates count in Streamlined SBCs, and your untradeable pack pulls are fodder you got for free. Start with what is in your club before you buy anything.
- Use partial progress: drop cards into a big SBC as you pack them during the week, then top it up at the end. Just make sure you finish before it expires.
- Don’t buy on the first night: fodder goes up when a big SBC lands. The Max 87 Hero went from about 118K on Monday to 132K on Tuesday, and it is under 100K today.
- Watch the overshoot: one high-rated card can push you way past the target. The game warns you, but check the score you still need before you add an expensive card.
- Think about the Gallery: cards you submit still count towards your FUT Gallery sets, according to EA, so handing in a duplicate doesn’t cost you Gallery progress.
Recently expired FC 27 SBCs
- Max 86 Base Hero Upgrade: about 85K at release, ended Wednesday 14 October. All 37 of its Heroes are also in the Max 87 pool.
- Base Hero Matchday Player Pick: a pick of Aimar, Šuker, Bompastor or Márquez for about 103K to 119K, ended Sunday 18 October.
- Thursday 22 October: Cora Zicai (Future Stars 85, about 26.5K on her last day) and the previous week of Marquee Matchups (about 21K), replaced by a new week tonight.
- Future Stars: Carlos Espí (about 36.5K) and Xavi Espart (about 30K to 35K), plus the Süper Lig and EFL Championship Future Stars Picks.
- Destined for Glory: Akliouche, Frattesi and Tarciane, plus the Destined for Glory challenges.
- Upgrades: 5x 80+ Upgrade, 3x 79+ Upgrade, 83+ Upgrade and earlier TOTW Upgrades.
Many of these come back in a new form. There have already been two Base Hero Upgrades and a Base Hero Player Pick in the first month, so another Hero SBC during Ultimate Scream would not be a surprise. Keep an eye on the FC 27 promo calendar.
FC 27 SBCs: FAQ
What is Item Score in FC 27 SBCs?
Item Score is the value each player card adds to a Streamlined SBC. It comes from the card’s OVR, rarity and Holographic status, and it is the same score the FUT Gallery uses. You add cards until you reach the target, for example 115,000 for the Max 87 Base Hero Upgrade.
What happens if a Streamlined SBC expires before I finish it?
You don’t get your cards back. EA gives you a smaller untradeable pack based on the Item Score you submitted, from a Bronze Pack up to several Giant Gold Player Packs. It is always worth less than finishing.
What time do new SBCs come out in FC 27?
Most new SBCs arrive with the daily content drop at 6pm UK, which is 7pm CEST and 17:00 UTC until the clocks change on 25 October. After that it is 6pm UK, 7pm CET and 18:00 UTC.
