EA Sports has surprised the FC25 community with an unprecedented back-to-back drop of free rewards. Players are now getting access to a free 89-rated Icon pick and a guaranteed player upgrade, adding excitement to the game just before the holiday season. Here’s everything you need to know about these freebies and how you can take full advantage.
Free Player Pick Between Jude Bellingham and Bonmati
For everyone logging into FC25 starting December 17th, EA is handing out an untradeable 89-rated player pick. Players get to choose between two standout footballers:
- Jude Bellingham – Real Madrid’s midfield maestro.
- Aitana Bonmatí – Barcelona and Spain’s superstar.
Although these cards are rated lower than their gold counterparts, they remain valuable additions for squad building and future Evolutions (EVO). Additionally, they open up opportunities for Madrid and Barcelona chemistry links, especially helpful for newer players jumping into FC25.
How to Claim Bellingham or Bonmati:
- Log into FC25 before January 17th.
- Choose between Bellingham or Bonmatí.
- Enjoy your free card, perfect for Evolutions or boosting your squad.
25-Game Icon Loan: Zidane, Beckham, or Buffon
Alongside the free player pick, EA is offering a 25-game loan of a legendary Icon. Players can pick one of these three football icons:
- Zinedine Zidane – A five-star skill playmaker perfect for weekend league dominance.
- David Beckham – The iconic English midfielder.
- Gianluigi Buffon – One of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.
While Zidane will likely be the most popular pick, the opportunity to test any of these icons for 25 games is a massive W for FC25 players. Expect to see Zidane dominating this weekend’s Ultimate Team Weekend League.
Why the Free Drops Are Game-Changing
EA Sports’ decision to distribute free content addresses multiple aspects of the game:
- For New Players: These cards help newcomers bridge the gap to more competitive teams.
- Market Impact: Expect dips in the prices of gold Jude Bellingham and Bonmatí as the freebies enter the game. Madrid and Barcelona budget players, like Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo, or Antonio Rüdiger, may see slight rises for chemistry links.
- Evolution Potential: Since these cards have lower ratings than their base gold versions, they become excellent candidates for Evolutions upgrades.
