At about 96,000 coins, Loïs Openda is by far the most expensive player SBC in FC 27 right now, roughly four times the price of Ojeda or Ampadu. What you get is 95 pace with both Quick Step and Rapid, a 4★ weak foot, and a Lyon card that can still grow through the Europa League.

Openda SBC: cost and requirements
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Cheapest solution | about 95,700 coins (Saturday 7 November, 13:04 CET) |
| Fastest solution | about 218,000 coins with 11 cards (one 90 and ten 88s) |
| Requirement | one challenge with a squad score target of 96,000, players rated 45 or higher |
| Cheapest fodder | 116 cards rated 84 |
| Released | Friday 6 November, 19:00 CET |
| Expires | around Friday 13 November |
This is not a normal 11-player squad. You hand in cards until their combined score reaches 96,000, so the cheapest way is a pile of 84-rated rares, while a handful of 88s and a 90 gets it done in seconds at more than twice the price.
The price has stayed in a narrow band. It opened at about 98,000 on Friday evening, dipped to about 92,000 within the hour, and has sat between 95,000 and 101,500 since. For comparison, Lea Schüller costs about 35,000 and Martín Ojeda about 24,000.
Openda’s card: the good and the bad
- Positions: LW, with ST, LM and CAM
- Skills / weak foot: 3★ / 4★, right footed
- Height / AcceleRATE: 175 cm, Controlled
- PlayStyles: Quick Step, Rapid, Finesse Shot, Low Driven and Press Proven
- Best role: Advanced Forward++ up front, Inside Forward++ on either wing
| Stat | Value | Stat | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acceleration | 95 | Finishing | 85 |
| Sprint speed | 95 | Attacking position | 88 |
| Agility | 86 | Shot power | 87 |
| Balance | 88 | Composure | 83 |
| Strength | 80 | Jumping | 94 |
| Stamina | 78 | Reactions | 80 |
The good
The pace is the headline. 95 acceleration and 95 sprint speed, boosted further by Quick Step and Rapid, make him one of the fastest players you can get from an SBC. Few defenders will catch him in a straight race, and Press Proven helps him keep the ball when they do.
He also finishes well for a winger. 88 attacking position, Finesse Shot and Low Driven give him two reliable ways to score, and a 4★ weak foot means cutting inside is not a gamble. 80 strength and 94 jumping make him harder to bully than his 175 cm suggests.
The bad
The passing is thin: 72 vision, 72 crossing and 62 long passing. He is a runner and a finisher, not a creator, so do not expect much from him at CAM.
3★ skills limit what he can do on the ball against a set defence, and 78 stamina means he may fade late if you press with him. A Controlled AcceleRATE is also a little less explosive over the first few yards than you might expect from a 175 cm player.
Can Openda upgrade? The Lyon path
Openda’s card follows Lyon in the Europa League league phase. Only games played after the card’s release on 6 November count.
| Upgrade | What Lyon need | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStyle | 3 wins | +1 PlayStyle |
| Face stats | score in 3 games | +1 pace, +1 shooting |
| Rating | finish in the top 8 | +1 overall |
That leaves four games. Lyon are 13th after four rounds with seven points, so the top 8 and the +1 overall need a strong finish. The PlayStyle and the face stat boosts look more realistic with three home games to come, but you will wait until December or January to know.
What the community thinks
| Vote | Result |
|---|---|
| SBC price | 67% positive |
| Card rating | 90% positive |
| Tier placement | 78% put him in the top tier (339 votes) |
Unlike most recent player SBCs, both the card and the price get a thumbs up. Finisher is the chemistry style of choice by a long way, picked by 85% of voters, which pushes his shooting and keeps the pace he already has.
Our verdict: a strong card if you can spare 96K
Do Openda if you play Ligue 1 or Belgium, or you simply want one of the fastest forwards in the game. With Finisher on, he can lead the line or play off the left, and the 4★ weak foot makes him more reliable in front of goal than most pace-first cards.
Skip him if 96,000 coins is most of your club. That is a lot of fodder for an 85, and the upgrades depend on a Lyon side sitting outside the top 8. Ojeda and Ampadu are far cheaper options while they last.
