EA SPORTS has announced that Title Update #10, referred to as the “Legends Return Update,” will arrive soon for EA SPORTS FC 25. While the patch introduces features across multiple game modes, many of the notable additions and improvements focus on Football Ultimate Team (FUT). Below is an overview of the most significant changes, including returning player favorites and new mechanics.

1. Roma Trio Returns (As FUT Heroes & Streets Won’t Forget Cards)

A legendary attacking trio from past FIFA titles, Seydou Doumbia, Victor Ibarbo, and Gervinho, is set to make a return:

  • Streets Won’t Forget Versions: Available via Objectives and Evolutions starting March 14 during the FUT Birthday Week 2 event.
  • FUT Birthday Hero Versions: Included in FUT 25 Packs throughout the campaign.

These versions aim to bring back the speed and dribbling threat that made the trio popular in previous titles. Base versions of these players will not appear in FUT 25 Packs.

2. Franz Beckenbauer Debuts as an ICON

Franz Beckenbauer will join the roster of ICONs in EA SPORTS FC 25, reflecting his accomplished career that includes three consecutive European Cups, two Ballon d’Or awards, and a World Cup triumph.

  • Base ICON: Scheduled to be added to FUT Packs on March 21 as part of the UEFA Dreamchasers campaign.
  • Campaign ICON: Set for release on April 4 during the FUT Immortals campaign.

3. Super Sub Player Items

A new type of Player Item, known as “Super Subs,” will appear in FUT. These are specifically designed to influence second-half tactics:

  • Full Chemistry: When substituted on during the second half in their primary or alternate positions, these players receive full Chemistry.
  • Enhanced Role Familiarity: Role Familiarity at Role+ is increased to Role++ under the same conditions.

Super Sub Player Items are intended to offer new strategic options for late-game substitutions in competitive and casual matches alike.

4. New Live Ultimate Team Friendly: “Targets”

A new Live Friendly mode, “Targets,” will be introduced via a Server Release, incorporating elements of the Low Driven Shot PlayStyle:

  • Targets in Each Corner of the Net: Both teams will see targets in the four corners.
  • Hitting Targets for 2 Goals: Successfully striking a target destroys it for the remainder of the match and awards an extra goal.
  • Maximum of Four Bonus Goals: Each side can accumulate up to four additional goals by hitting all four targets.

This mode combines skill with strategic shot placement, encouraging the use of the Low Driven Shot PlayStyle.

5. New Low Driven Shot PlayStyle (and PlayStyle+)

A fresh gameplay element, the Low Driven Shot PlayStyle, will be available in FUT and other modes. This PlayStyle is intended to boost precision and consistency for short-press shooting inputs.

  • Increased Shot Accuracy
  • Moderately Faster Ball Travel Speed
  • Quicker Shot Execution

The PlayStyle+ variant amplifies these effects, potentially making it a key ability for advanced attackers.

6. Tweaks to Precision Lob Pass & Clearance Headers

The new update will not significantly change overall gameplay balance but includes two noteworthy adjustments:

  • Precision Lob Pass: Fully powered Precision Lob Passes have had their accuracy moderately reduced.
  • Clearance Headers: The accuracy of clearance headers has been significantly increased, giving defenders more reliable options when clearing dangerous balls.

Other Updates Across EA SPORTS FC 25

Though Ultimate Team features receive the most attention, the Legends Return Update also introduces a variety of content and improvements for other modes:

  • Clubs Mode: The level cap increases by 20 (from 100 to 120), providing a total of 24 more Skill Points. Two new 3-Star Facilities (Low Driven Drill and Strength Drill) are being added, each offering distinct Attribute boosts and PlayStyles. Additionally, Double Coin Events are planned, similar to previous Double XP opportunities.
  • Career Mode: The central tab receives UI improvements, such as Upcoming Fixtures and updated league standings. Youth Academy players can develop the new Low Driven Shot PlayStyle, and Franz Beckenbauer is included in the ICON selection for Player Career mode.
  • Classic XI and Canada Women’s National Team: The Classic XI returns to Kick Off and Online Friendlies, featuring iconic players like Pele, Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff, and now Beckenbauer. Canada’s Women’s National Team is also joining the roster for Kick Off, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons.
  • Visual Enhancements: A vintage theme is being added to the main menu, highlighting legendary players from the past. Sixty-nine updated star heads, two new goal celebrations, set piece animations for Gareth Bale, and new “SuperFans” for select clubs will also debut after the update.
