EA Sports is once again raising the bar with the upcoming FC 26, and thanks to a leak from popular Twitter user Mr. Geek, fans now have their first look at the new PlayStyles that will define gameplay in the next installment of the franchise.

According to the leaked image, FC 26 will introduce five new PlayStyles that promise to add greater nuance, realism, and strategy to player performance. At the same time, four older PlayStyles are being retired. Here’s everything you need to know.

New PlayStyles in FC 26

  1. AERIAL FORTRESS
A defensive powerhouse built for aerial dominance. This PlayStyle caters to center-backs and defensive-minded players who excel in heading the ball away in critical defensive moments.
  2. PRECISION HEADER
Not just about power, this PlayStyle emphasizes finesse and control in aerial duels for attackers. Think of accurate headers aimed with intention, ideal for clinical finishers in the box.
  3. ENFORCER
A new breed of physical attackers. The Enforcer dominates with strength and shielding, capable of initiating contact while dribbling. A nightmare for defenders.
  4. INVENTIVE
For the creatively gifted. This PlayStyle allows players to execute unique passes, including stylish Flair and Trivela-style balls. A must-have for midfield magicians.
  5. GAME CHANGER
A wildcard in any team, this PlayStyle reflects players who bring unconventional, extraordinary finishing to the pitch. Expect unexpected goals and highlight-worthy moments.

Removed PlayStyles

While the new additions are exciting, FC 26 is also saying goodbye to some classic PlayStyles:

  • Aerial
  • Flair
  • Power Header
  • Trivela

Many of these seem to have been merged or evolved into the new PlayStyles, such as Flair and Trivela now falling under Inventive, and Power Header making way for Precision Header.

Final Thoughts

With these new additions, EA appears to be steering the FC series toward a more skill-based and tactical experience. Players will need to rethink their squad builds and playstyles to adapt to the new meta when FC 26 hits shelves.

This leak from Mr. Geek may just be the tip of the iceberg. Expect more exciting news in the coming weeks as EA ramps up for release.
