Time Warp Team 2 is expected to replace Team 1 in packs on Friday, January 9, at 19:00 CET. If you have been saving packs, this is the moment you have been waiting for, because anything opened after the content drop should be able to contain Team 2 items.
This second squad leans hard into the Time Warp theme, prime-style upgrades for veterans and fan favourites, plus a full Icon mini-drop that looks designed to drain clubs right before the next big wave of content.

Best Time Warp Team 2 cards to target
1) The headline pulls
Cristiano Ronaldo (90 ST, Finesse Shot+) is the Friday pack-seller. 93 shooting with Finesse Shot+ is exactly the type of card that swings tight games because you do not need many chances.
Homare Sawa (92 CM, two PlayStyles+) looks like the “complete midfielder” of the team. 92 passing and 92 dribbling with Press Proven+ and Tiki Taka+ is built for fast, safe build-up and hard-to-tackle carry play.
Marco van Basten (92 ST, two PlayStyles+) is the clinical striker option. Low Driven Shot+ plus First Touch+ is the classic combo for quick box finishing and first-time strikes.
2) The meta defenders that will be everywhere
Kyle Walker (89 RB, Quick Step+) is the simple one, 90 pace with 88 defending and 88 physical. You know what that does to wide attackers.
Philipp Lahm (90 RB) brings the rare mix of elite defending with passing PlayStyles+. If you like fullbacks that start attacks instead of just recycling the ball, this is the Icon to watch.
Bobby Moore (91 CB, Jockey+) has end-game defending and physicals, and the 82 pace is high enough that he should not feel like the usual slow CB liability.
3) The “actually affordable” core upgrades
If the top cards are priced out, Team 2 still has several strong options for normal clubs:
- Koke (88 CM, Technical+) for controlled dribbling and clean passing in midfield.
- Moutinho (88 CM, Tiki Taka+) if you play quick triangles and short build-up.
- Sissoko (88 CM, Enforcer+) as the bully box-to-box who wins duels all game.
- Groß (87 CDM, Incisive Pass+) if you want a deeper playmaker with real defensive stats.
- Haavi (87 LW, Rapid+) for raw pace and direct wing play.
Pack strategy for Friday
If you are trying to be smart with your club, this is the decision point.
Open at 19:00 CET if:
- You want a real shot at Ronaldo, the Icons, or Walker.
- You have tradable packs and want to take advantage of the early market window.
- You are upgrading your team right now and do not want to wait for the next big promo.
Hold packs if:
- Your plan is to go all-in on TOTY and you do not want to drain your club before the biggest pack period of the year.
- You would rather keep fodder and coins flexible for SBCs and upgrades that drop later.
