FC 27 Black Friday is expected to land on Friday 27 November 2026, with Thunderstruck as the main promo. EA has not dated it. EA has confirmed: Thunderstruck is a stage in the Season 2 FC Heritage Circuit, and pre-order Debut International ICONs upgrade to their Champion versions during Black Friday. Based on FC 24, FC 25 and FC 26, expect Best of TOTW packs a few days early, flash SBCs, and live upgrades tied to real league results.
When is FC 27 Black Friday?
Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November. In each of the last three games, EA dropped the main Black Friday promo on the Friday itself, and Thunderstruck was that promo every time. That is why we expect the same date in FC 27. We will swap the Expected pill for Confirmed as soon as EA posts its Black Friday article.

FC 27 Black Friday expected timeline
Every tile above is a forecast, not an announcement. We built it from what EA actually did in the last three games:
- Best of TOTW: FC 26 put the best TOTW items into packs from Wednesday 26 November, two days before Thunderstruck. FC 25 did it from 27 November, two days before the main drop.
- Best of Campaigns and flash events: FC 26 re-released standout campaign items from 27 November and started the first of four flash Live Events the same day, with the next ones 48 hours apart.
- Thunderstruck main drop: on the Friday in FC 24 (24 Nov 2023), FC 25 (29 Nov 2024, 14:00 UTC) and FC 26 (28 Nov 2025).
- Mini releases: FC 26 added more Thunderstruck players later on the Friday and again on Sunday 30 November.
- End: FC 25 kept Best of players in packs until 6 December, about a week after the main drop. We expect a similar length.

Confirmed by EA. EA’s Season 1 article says, word for word, “Your Debut International ICON will later upgrade into its Champion International ICON version during Black Friday.” So if you pre-ordered the Ultimate or Ultimate Plus Edition, keep that card. Dexerto reports that the upgrade is automatic, and that you lose it if you discard the card or put it in an SBC. EA’s Season 2 article also lists Thunderstruck as one of the three themed Events in the FC Heritage Circuit, alongside Ultimate Scream and Hall of FUT: Unleashed.
Reported, not confirmed. RealSport lists Black Friday Thunderstruck among the scheduled Season 2 campaigns. EA has not published a Thunderstruck promo article for FC 27 yet, and we found no sourced FC 27 Thunderstruck leaks as of 22 October.
Expected. The date, the Best of packs, the flash SBCs and the upgrade rules. We also don’t know yet when Season 2 ends, so we can’t say whether Black Friday sits at the end of Season 2 or the start of Season 3. In FC 25 it was the start of Season 3.

The pattern is clear. Best of packs open midweek, Thunderstruck drops on Friday, and the cards keep upgrading for a few weeks afterwards as real results come in. How to prepare for FC 27 Black Friday
- Save coins: Black Friday has more SBCs in a few days than most promos have in a week. Flash SBCs in FC 25 and FC 26 were only live for 24 hours, so you need the coins ready, not on the way.
- Stock fodder: keep your tradeable and untradeable 82 to 86 rated players instead of quick-selling them. Upgrade SBCs and flash SBCs eat fodder fast. Our FC 27 SBC hub shows what current SBCs ask for.
- Sort your club: clear duplicates, store what you will need, and make room in your transfer list and storage before the weekend. It saves a lot of time when SBCs drop every few hours.
- Keep FC Points for the right moment: if you plan to spend FC Points, wait for the Black Friday store. Don’t buy points before you have seen what is on offer.
- Don’t touch your Debut ICON: the Champion upgrade is confirmed for Black Friday. Keep the card in your club. Don’t discard it and don’t use it in an SBC.
- Keep Evolution slots in mind: FC 26 had six Flash Evolutions in four-day windows. Check our FC 27 Evolutions hub so you have suitable players ready.
Should you sell before FC 27 Black Friday?
This section is our opinion, not market data. Prices move with packs, and Black Friday is the most pack-heavy weekend of the year. In past years, many traders sold big meta cards before the Best of packs opened and bought back once the weekend supply had hit the market.
- Players you use every day: keep them. Losing weeks of enjoyment to save a few thousand coins is rarely worth it.
- Expensive cards sitting in your club: consider selling before the Best of packs go live, as more copies of similar players hit the market.
- Fodder: often holds its value or climbs during Black Friday because so many SBCs need it. Don’t dump it the week before.
- Thunderstruck cards on day one: usually at their most expensive. If you only want one to use, waiting a few days rarely hurts, unless its club is on a run that looks likely to trigger the upgrades.
Our verdict: prepare, don’t panic. Sell what you don’t use, keep fodder, and have a coin buffer for the 24-hour SBCs.

When does FC 27 Black Friday start?
EA has not announced it yet. Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November, and based on the last three years we expect Thunderstruck that day, with Best of TOTW packs from around Wednesday 25 November.
Is Thunderstruck in FC 27?
Yes, at least as a stage: EA lists Thunderstruck as one of the themed Events in the Season 2 FC Heritage Circuit. A Thunderstruck promo with live upgrades is expected on Black Friday, as in FC 24, FC 25 and FC 26, but EA has not announced the cards yet.
When do Debut ICONs upgrade in FC 27?
During Black Friday. EA says Debut International ICONs upgrade to their Champion International ICON versions then. The exact day is not announced. Keep the card in your club to get the upgrade.
