It’s a prestigious card, but the real question is whether this version of Blanc can actually keep up with FC 25’s strict meta standards.

According to content creator Inception, who reviewed the card in multiple matches, Blanc is definitely good, just not elite. In a game where movement and transitions are everything, Blanc’s lack of Quick Step+ holds him back from being top-tier.

These make him solid, especially when you are manually controlling him. Anticipate and Intercept help with early AI challenges, and Block+ is useful in last-ditch scenarios. He can also pass the ball well from deep with Pinged Pass+.

But the major flaw is the lack of Quick Step+, which would allow Blanc to explode out of a jockey animation and respond to sharp attacker movements. In FC 25, that trait often separates great defenders from average ones.

While Laurent Blanc is clearly built as a center back, he has some flexibility thanks to his physical stats and passing attributes.

He even has a Driven Shot trait, but with no strong dribbling or attacking playstyles, you should avoid using him in advanced areas. If a future evolution allows more versatility, there might be niche options, but for now he is clearly best in the back line.

Blanc already has elite Physical stats, so the focus should be on two things: Acceleration and Passing. These areas help with both transitions and distribution from the back.

“If you don’t have a card like Touré already, then Blanc is a great SBC to do. But if you’re going full meta, there are better options,” said Inception.

The Laurent Blanc SBC is currently priced at around 860k coins. That may sound expensive, but with repeatable grindable SBCs like the 85×10, most active players can complete it without destroying their club.

If you need a left-footed CB with good AI and defensive coverage, he is still worth it. But if you already own an elite center back with full PlayStyle+ coverage, you may want to save your fodder.
