The price has moved between 38k and 41k since release. Fodder usually gets cheaper early in the week, so if you want him, wait until Tuesday or Wednesday before you buy the squad.
Diao’s card: the good and the bad

The good: 93 Acceleration, 92 Sprint Speed and 91 Agility make him one of the quickest wide players you can get from an SBC right now. 88 Finishing and 86 Dribbling and Ball Control are good for a winger, and he can play on either side.
The bad: 76 passing (80 Short Pass) is low for a wide midfielder. 73 Composure and 76 Reactions are poor for an 84-rated special card, and both matter a lot in FC 27’s gameplay. 46 defending means he gives you nothing when you lose the ball.
What the creators say
NepentheZ was blunt in his Sunday evening video. He called Diao a weak card for 41k and said he would value him closer to 15,000 coins. His main complaints were the passing, composure and reactions. He was also lukewarm on the new Zoomaestro evo, calling it fun to try but not one to keep.
Our verdict: only for Serie A teams
Skip it unless you play a Serie A or Senegal hybrid and need pace on the wing. For a Serie A team he is a real upgrade: 92 pace, 4★ skills and 4★ weak foot on a card that covers four positions. For everyone else, 41k is a lot for a winger with 73 composure.

The Liga Portugal Pick is the best value of the four: a guaranteed 84-rated Future Stars card for under 17k. Manzambi costs more, but he is the more complete card.
Diao vs the Zoomaestro evo
Diao arrived on the same evening as Zoomaestro, a new evolution for CAM/CM players (max 80 OVR, max 75 pace). It adds +7 OVR, a fourth skill star and +10 Acceleration, Sprint Speed and Dribbling, and you only need 5 games and 1 win. They are different jobs: Zoomaestro turns a slow central midfielder into a quicker one, while Diao is a pace winger. fut.gg does not list a coin cost for Zoomaestro, so check it in-game before you choose.
