Is there a Ballon d’Or event in FC 27?
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Ceremony | Tonight, Mon 26 October, 8pm UK · 9pm CET, London Palladium |
| FC 27 Ultimate Team event | Not announced |
| Leaks | None for console and PC so far |
| FC Mobile 27 event | Reported No date yet |
| Last console event | FC 25: Ballon d’Or Weekend, 8 to 12 November 2024 |
| Our expectation | A weekend event in early to mid November, if EA runs one |
Right now, the answer is no. EA has said nothing about Ballon d’Or cards for FC 27, and no leaker has posted Ballon d’Or cards for console and PC. The one Ballon d’Or event that has been mentioned is for FC Mobile 27. According to Sportsdunia, it was confirmed in the FC Mobile Korea livestream, but without a date.
This is the 70th Ballon d’Or and the first one held outside France. Kate Scott and Thierry Henry host. Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal are the favourites for the men’s award, and Alexia Putellas is tipped to win the women’s award for a third time.
What EA did for the Ballon d’Or in previous years
EA has handled the Ballon d’Or three different ways in the last three games. Only one of those years had a real Ultimate Team event.
| Game | Winners | Ceremony | What happened in Ultimate Team |
|---|---|---|---|
| FC 24 | Messi, Bonmatí | 30 Oct 2023 | No event. The winners headlined TOTY in January |
| FC 25 | Rodri, Bonmatí | 28 Oct 2024 | Ballon d’Or Weekend, 8 to 12 Nov, with 97 rated nominee loans |
| FC 26 | Dembélé, Bonmatí | 22 Sep 2025 | No console event found. FC Mobile only |
FC 24: Career Mode only
Lionel Messi won his eighth Ballon d’Or and Aitana Bonmatí took the women’s award on 30 October 2023. Fans expected special cards, but Ultimate Team got no event at all.
- Career Mode: ahead of FC 24, EA announced a deal with Amaury, the company behind the Ballon d’Or, which brought the official award into Career Mode.
- Team of the Year: the winners got their moment three months later, when Messi headlined the men’s TOTY and Bonmatí the women’s.
FC 25: the Ballon d’Or Weekend
Rodri and Aitana Bonmatí won on 28 October 2024. Leakers revealed the event on 6 November, and EA launched the Ballon d’Or Weekend two days later. It ran from Friday 8 to Tuesday 12 November.
- Free Player Picks: everyone who logged in got two picks, one men’s and one women’s nominee, each from a pool of 10 special Nominee cards.
- Loans, not tradeable cards: the cards were global loans, removed when the event ended. That kept the market safe from 97 rated cards in November.
- The headline cards: the winners, Rodri and Aitana Bonmatí, were 97 rated. The other nominees, like Mbappé, Saliba and Caroline Graham Hansen, got 95.
- Men’s pool: Rodri, Vinícius Júnior, Bellingham, Haaland, Mbappé, Lautaro Martínez, Lamine Yamal, Kane, Saliba and Rúben Dias.
- Women’s pool: Bonmatí, Caroline Graham Hansen, Paralluelo, Sophia Smith, Horan, Katoto, Trinity Rodman, Lauren James, Gwinn and Tarciane.
- SBCs and objectives: four daily Ballon d’Or Challenge SBCs, a Featured Squad, a Ballon d’Or Brilliance Live Friendly and objectives for playing, scoring and assisting with your loans. Finishing everything gave an 84+ x4 Rare Gold Players Pack.
It was a small event, but a fun one. You got to play with two of the best cards in the game for free, a month after launch.
FC 26: bad timing for Dembélé
Ousmane Dembélé and Aitana Bonmatí, with her third in a row, won on 22 September 2025. That was before FC 26 even launched, and console and PC players got no Ballon d’Or event that year. The card databases have a full Ballon d’Or squad for FC 25, but not a single Ballon d’Or card for FC 26.
- FC Mobile got one: FC Mobile 26 ran a Ballon d’Or event from 2 to 23 October 2025, with Dembélé among the promo cards.
- Dembélé’s upgrades came later: his big FC 26 cards came from normal promos, including a 97 rated Team of the Year card and a 95 rated Team of the Season card.
- The loan setup came back: FC 26’s TOTY nominee loans worked the same way as the FC 25 Ballon d’Or loans.
How the FC 27 favourites are rated
If EA copies FC 25, the winners get a huge boost. Rodri went from 91 to 97 for the weekend. These are the launch ratings of the biggest nominees in FC 27.
| Player | Award | FC 27 OVR |
|---|---|---|
| Kylian Mbappé | Men’s | 91 |
| Erling Haaland | Men’s | 91 |
| Harry Kane | Men’s | 90 |
| Lamine Yamal | Men’s | 90 |
| Ousmane Dembélé | Men’s | 90 |
| Michael Olise | Men’s | 90 |
| Vitinha | Men’s | 90 |
| Alexia Putellas | Women’s | 91 |
| Khadija Shaw | Women’s | 90 |
| Mariona Caldentey | Women’s | 89 |
Aitana Bonmatí (90) is not nominated this year. Many of these players already have special cards, so a Ballon d’Or card would have to land high to stand out.
Our verdict: what to expect in FC 27
This is our prediction, not confirmed information. The ceremony is in late October again, just like in 2024, so the timing works for EA this time. We think a Ballon d’Or Weekend in the FC 25 style is more likely than not.
- When: one to two weeks after the ceremony, in early to mid November. Ultimate Scream Team 2 is expected on 30 October and UEFA Road to the Knockouts on 6 November, so a short weekend event would sit next to those.
- What: free login picks with very high rated nominee loans, plus daily SBCs and objectives for packs.
- Not tradeable: EA has used global loans for both the Ballon d’Or and TOTY nominees. Do not expect a 97 rated winner in the transfer market.
- Or nothing: in FC 24, EA skipped Ultimate Team and saved the winners for TOTY. That can happen again.
How to get ready: log in every day once the event is live, because in FC 25 the free picks needed a login during the event window. Keep some fodder for daily SBCs. And watch the winners’ other cards, because hype around a Ballon d’Or winner can push prices up, even when the event cards are just loans.
FC 27 Ballon d’Or: FAQ
Is there a Ballon d’Or event in FC 27?
Not yet. EA has not announced a Ballon d’Or event for FC 27 Ultimate Team, and there are no reliable leaks. In FC 25, EA launched the event ten days after the ceremony, so we expect news in early November if it comes.
What did EA do for the Ballon d’Or in FC 25?
EA ran a Ballon d’Or Weekend from 8 to 12 November 2024. Everyone got two free Player Picks with nominee loans, including 97 rated Rodri and Aitana Bonmatí, plus daily SBCs and objectives that rewarded packs.
Will FC 27 Ballon d’Or cards be tradeable?
Probably not. In FC 25 the Ballon d’Or cards were global loans that disappeared after the event, and EA used the same setup for TOTY nominees in FC 26. Nothing is confirmed for FC 27.
