This is a stronger pack team than Team 1. Rayan’s 91 pace and 90 dribbling make him the obvious headliner, but the surprises are lower down. Brunner gets 88 shooting and 88 dribbling, and Thompson’s 90 pace makes her one of the quickest right-backs in the game. Kanjinga, with 92 pace and 87 shooting at 85 OVR, could be the budget striker of the team.
How Future Stars upgrades work, and which Team 2 cards can still grow
Future Stars are live cards. According to EA’s official Future Stars rules, EA tracks each player’s domestic league games from 9 October, and the upgrades are added to the cards on 3 February 2027. Cup, Champions League and international matches don’t count.
| Milestone | Upgrade |
|---|---|
| 4 league starts | +1 OVR (max 86) |
| 8 league starts | +1 OVR (max 87) |
| 7 goals + assists (ATT/MID) or 4 clean sheets (DEF/GK) | +1 PlayStyle+ |
| 10 goals + assists (ATT/MID) or 7 clean sheets (DEF/GK) | 5β weak foot |
In the NWSL, MLS, Liga MX and Argentina’s Liga Profesional the bar is much lower: 2 and 3 starts for the rating boosts, and only 2 and 4 goal contributions (or 2 and 3 clean sheets) for the PlayStyle+ and weak foot.
The starts upgrades stop at 87, so seven cards can’t gain any OVR from games played: Rayan, Mainoo, Pubill, Brunner, Mastantuono, Brown and Thompson. They can only add a PlayStyle+ and a fifth weak-foot star. The real upgrade candidates are the 85 and 86 rated cards:
- Kanjinga, Peio Canales, Dro FernΓ‘ndez, Hato and Jeltsch (85) can each gain up to +2 OVR if they keep starting league games.
- AlajbegoviΔ, Alex Scott and Tresoldi (86) can gain +1.
- Gisele Thompson is still worth watching at 87. She plays in the NWSL, where the bar is lowest. As a right-back, she unlocks a PlayStyle+ after 2 Angel City clean sheets with her on the pitch, and the fifth weak-foot star after 3.
Kanjinga looks like the best bet. He already has elite pace and shooting, and two league-start upgrades would take him to 87.
The position on the card decides which group a player is in. Mainoo is a CDM, so he upgrades on clean sheets, not goals.
Future Stars SBCs and objectives tonight
Tonight’s drop comes with one new Future Stars SBC, a Future Stars objective group and the final step of the Academy evolution.
- Johan Manzambi (85) SBC: live now, as AsyFutTrader leaked. One challenge, around 45,000 coins, and it expires in 7 days. That is the priciest Future Stars SBC so far, so only do it if he fits your midfield.
- Future Stardom objectives: complete 4 of 5 challenges for an untradeable 10x 80+ Gold Players Pack. A separate Future Stars SP group pays 1,500 SP. Both run for 7 days.
- Ultimate Gauntlet 2: 8 of 10 challenges unlock untradeable Julio CΓ©sar Enciso and Brajan Gruda, plus an evo.
- Future Stars Academy IV: the final Academy step takes your 83 card to 85 OVR.
- Still to come: Diao and other leaked Future Stars SBC cards are still unreleased. FutPoliceLeaks and FIFAUTeam also both point to a Max 87 Base Hero upgrade SBC soon.
Still live from earlier in the promo (prices, Friday evening):
- Xavi Espart (85 CDM): around 30,500 coins. Expires in 4 days, and still one of the best-value SBCs of the promo.
- Cora Zicai (85 LW): around 27,500 coins.
- SΓΌper Lig Future Stars Pick: around 10,300 coins.
Should you buy Team 2 cards tonight?
Probably not on the first night. Fresh promo cards are always at their most expensive in the first hours, and this weekend there are extra coins in the market. The Pre-Season Completionist rewards (worth around 60,000 coins per player) were due to pay out today, and SBC prices were already up 10β15% overnight.
With two leakers pointing to Ultimate Scream next Friday, the smarter move is to sell what you don’t need tonight and buy your Team 2 targets over the weekend, when prices settle.
What else arrives with Team 2
According to EA’s Future Stars roadmap, week two of the promo also brings:
- The PlayStyle+ Lab. The PlayStyles Lab levels up, and the first UEFA Star Performers are eligible for PlayStyle+ upgrades from 17 October.
- New Live Events: the second Ultimate Gauntlet and a new Flash Rush event.
- The final Future Stars Academy step. If you enrolled an eligible young ST or CAM on 9 October, your Academy card reaches its full 85 OVR version today.
