Thursday’s 6pm UK / 7pm CEST drop in FC 27 Ultimate Team is a quiet one. You get a Future Stars SBC for Cora Zicai, a new CDM/CM evolution called Centre Stage, Marquee Matchups Week 5 and a Season 1 SP chase. The big content is tomorrow: EA has confirmed that Future Stars Team 2 drops on Friday.
Cora Zicai Future Stars SBC: is she worth 27k?
The headline item tonight is an 85-rated Future Stars Cora Zicai at left wing (LM alt position), with 4-star skills and a 4-star weak foot. Her face stats are 87 pace, 83 shooting, 82 passing, 88 dribbling, 58 defending and 77 physical.
| Card | Rating | Position | Key stats | SBC price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cora Zicai (Future Stars) | 85 | LW / LM | 87 PAC, 88 DRI | ~26,900 coins |
The SBC is a single challenge, and it costs around 27,000 coins at the time of writing. It expires in seven days.
For an 85-rated winger with 87 pace and 88 dribbling, that is a fair price. If she fits your links, she is a cheap and easy pick.
Centre Stage evolution: the best new CDM/CM evo
The new Centre Stage evolution turns a cheap central midfielder into an 85-rated card. According to the requirements:
- Requirements: max 81 OVR, CDM or CM, max 85 pace, max 7 PlayStyles
- Upgrades: +10 OVR (up to 85), +2 skill moves and +2 weak foot (to 3 stars), +7 pace, +10 passing and defending, plus big boosts to stamina, strength, jumping and aggression
- Duration: you can start it for 10 days; it ends in 17 days
The physical upgrades are what make it interesting. A tall, slow CDM with low stamina ends up as a genuine 85-rated ball winner. Expect prices on 79β81-rated CDMs with good height to rise over the next few days.
Not everyone is impressed. NepentheZ called it another poor evolution in his first video on tonight’s content, arguing that an 85-rated ceiling is too low this far into the cycle. That is fair if you already have a strong midfield, but for newer clubs it is still a free upgrade.
Marquee Matchups Week 5 and SP Chase
Marquee Matchups Week 5 is live with four challenges and a Large Gold Players Pack reward. Its price has jumped since release: it was about 18,000 coins at 7:45pm CEST and it now costs around 26,900 coins, as players bought up the cheap fodder. Unless you already have the cards in your club, wait for the price to settle before you do it for the pack.
EA has also added a Season 1 SP Chase (2,000 SP across 5 objectives, 7 days). With Season 1 ending on Thursday 22 October, this is one of the last chances to push through the season pass.
Future Stars Team 2 drops tomorrow
EA confirmed at 5pm CEST that Future Stars Team 2 arrives on Friday 16 October. EA highlighted Gisele Thompson joining her sister Alyssa, making them the first sister duo in Future Stars.
All 15 official stats have already leaked. Check our Future Stars Team 2 leaks article for the full team and upgrade rules.
SBC prices tonight
The market dipped around 10% this afternoon, so most SBCs are cheaper than earlier today. The exception is Marquee Matchups, which got more expensive after release:
| SBC | Price | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| Cora Zicai (Future Stars) | ~26,900 | 7 days |
| Marquee Matchups W5 | ~26,900 (was ~18k at release) | 7 days |
| Xavi Espart | ~30,100 | 5 days |
| Carlos EspΓ | ~36,500 | 23 hours |
| Base Hero Matchday Player Pick | ~102,100 | 3 days |
| Ferran Torres POTM | ~109,300 | 26 days |
| Pascal GroΓ POTM | ~16,800 | 15 days |
| Future Stars Challenge 2 | ~2,850 | 2 days |
If you have been waiting on Espart or EspΓ, this evening is a good time to do them.
