To do a low driven shot in FC 27, hold shoot (Circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox) to set the power, then tap shoot again before your player strikes the ball. The shot stays low and fast, which makes it the most reliable finish inside the box.

On keyboard and mouse, the input is the same idea: press your Shoot key, then press it again. If the double tap does nothing, check that you are on the default controls under Settings, Controls.
How to do a low driven shot in FC 27
- Get the ball inside the box, ideally with an angle on goal or a cut-back to the penalty spot.
- Aim with the left stick at a bottom corner, usually the far post.
- Hold shoot (○ / B) to fill the power bar. Around a third to half of the bar is plenty inside the box.
- Release, then tap shoot a second time straight away, before your player makes contact with the ball.
- Your player keeps the ball down and drives it along the grass. If you see a normal rising shot, the second tap came too late.
The same double tap works on top of finesse and power shots. Hold R1 / RB first for a low driven finesse with a little curl, or L1 + R1 / LB + RB for a low driven power shot that takes a moment longer to wind up.
When to use it
- One on ones, when the keeper comes out and goes down.
- Cut-backs and passes across the six yard box, where you have little time.
- Shots across goal to the far bottom corner.
- When the keeper is standing tall or rushing, since low shots are harder to reach quickly.
Common mistakes
- Using it from distance. From outside the box a low driven shot loses its edge. Use a power shot or a finesse instead.
- Too much power. A full bar inside the box makes the shot less accurate. Keep it moderate.
- Charging too early. Start the shot as you arrive, not three steps before, or the keeper and defenders get time to react.
- Tapping too late. The second press has to come before contact. Practise the timing in the Practice Arena first.
- Weak foot shots. Take an extra touch onto your stronger foot when you can.
What changed in FC 27
The input is the same as in FC 26, but the Low Driven PlayStyle works differently. In the FC 27 Gameplay Deep Dive, EA removed the extra shot speed the PlayStyle used to give. Shot speed now comes from the player’s shooting attributes and how much power you put on the shot.
- Low Driven and Low Driven+ still add an accuracy boost.
- Any player can do a low driven shot. The PlayStyle only makes it more accurate.
- Good finishing and shot power stats matter more than before when you pick a striker.
EA also wrote in its one month gameplay notes that players take fewer shots in FC 27 but convert a higher share of their chances. Clean finishes from good positions, like this one, are a big part of that.
