The Team of the Year hangover is real. We are currently in the final stretch of the biggest promotion of the year with players grinding their last upgrades and recycling fodder in hopes of seeing that blue flare before the event concludes this Friday.
But EA Sports wastes no time. With a new Season launching this Thursday January 29th the content roadmap for February and March has leaked and reveals a new promotions for the Ultimate Team calendar.
Here is everything we know about the leaked promotions in chronological order including Future Stars, Knockout Royalty, Fantasy FC, and FUT Birthday. These dates are not officially confirmed so be aware that EA could change dates/promotions along the way.
1. Future Stars and The Season Reward Leak
Expected Launch: Friday January 30 2026
Future Stars returns to spotlight the best U23 talents in world football immediately following TOTY. Historically this promo offers massive boosts to young prospects which makes them usable in high level competitive play.
The Season Reward Leak
The biggest news for grinders is the Season Reset on Thursday. Leaks indicate that Future Stars players will be included directly in the Season Ladder rewards.
Instead of just packs or generic storylines dataminers have spotted specific young talents appearing in the Season Progress code.
2. Knockout Royalty (The New RTTF)
Estimated Start Date: Friday February 13 2026
This is the most intriguing name on the leaked list. Knockout Royalty appears to be a total rebrand of the classic Road to the Final (RTTF) promotion. It arrives just in time for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 knockout stages.
How it works
Just like RTTF these cards will upgrade automatically based on real world team performance. The rebrand suggests EA may focus on specific “Kings of Europe” meaning players with a history of performing in big knockout games alongside the usual live cards for teams still in the tournament. You should also expect significant representation from the UWCL Knockout stages as well which has become a staple in FC 26.
3. Fantasy FC
Estimated Start Date: Friday February 27 2026
Sandwiched between the European knockout hype and FUT Birthday Fantasy FC brings back the tracker based excitement late in February.
The Mechanics
Unlike Knockout Royalty which relies on team wins Fantasy FC upgrades are usually tied to individual and team performance over a 4 match domestic run.
- Clean Sheets and Goals: Defenders need clean sheets while attackers need goals or assists.
- Appearances: Players usually get a +1 just for playing 3 of the 4 games.
- Team Wins: A general boost if the club wins a certain number of domestic matches.
Fantasy FC often provides the best non meta cards of the year. Because upgrades depend on real life form we often get incredible cards for players who are not the usual suspects.
4. FUT Birthday
Estimated Start Date: Friday March 6 2026
The anniversary of Ultimate Team arrives in early March. In FC 26 expect EA to lean heavily into PlayStyle+ changes and 5 Star Skill or Weak Foot upgrades.
What to look for
EA often releases Twin Cards which are two versions of the same player (e.g. a 5 Star Skill Darwin Núñez vs. a 5 Star Weak Foot Darwin Núñez). Leaks also suggest “Icon Swaps” tokens may return or crossover into this period allowing you to grind for Birthday themed Icons. This is the promo where EA usually gets creative with position changes as well.
