Thursday’s drop in FC 27 Ultimate Team is light on new cards but good for your coins: the free Strings of Fate evolution turns any 81-rated CM or CDM into an 82 playmaker in three games, Marquee Matchups week 8 is live, and every Ultimate Scream SBC is 13 to 15 percent cheaper than this afternoon. Away from the game, two leakers posted an EA-style upgrade path graphic for a Road to the Knockouts Loïs Openda SBC that is not live yet.

Strings of Fate: a free 82 for your cheapest 81
Strings of Fate costs no coins and no points, and it is quick: three levels, each with one Squad Battles match on Semi-Pro or higher (Rush, Rivals, Champions and Live Events also count), and one of the three must be a win. Submit a player by about Sunday 15 November; the evo itself runs until about 22 November.

The upgrade is all about passing. Claire Hutton, the in-game example, goes from 81 to 82 with her passing up from 74 to 80 and a 4-star weak foot. There is no PlayStyle in the path, so the card you put in is the card you get out, only better on the ball.
Who to evolve
Any 81-rated gold midfielder qualifies, and the good ones cost less than a Scream puzzle SBC on Thursday night:

Thuram brings 85 physical and 81 defending to the base, so he comes out as the best pure CDM. Camavinga has 82 dribbling and 4-star skills and suits a box-to-box role. Neither will push a 90-rated promo card out of a top team, but as a free 82 with 80-plus passing they are better than most paid evos this season. Marquee Matchups week 8: four squads for a mixed electrum pack
The new Marquee Matchups set replaced the old one at 6pm UK and runs for 7 days. Four squads, one per fixture, and a Large Mixed Electrum Players Pack for finishing all four.

The first three squads cost about 18K together on Thursday night. The Atlético v Barcelona squad needs a 75 team rating and four players from one club, so it will be the dearest of the four. With the mixed electrum pack as the group reward, this week’s set is one for players who still have silver and bronze fodder in the club, not a pack worth buying squads for.
Max 88 Base Hero refresh: 128K and falling
The Max 88 Base Hero Upgrade refreshed on Thursday and cost about 128,440 coins at 19:15 CET, down from 149K this afternoon, 169K on Wednesday and about 182K on Tuesday. The pack gives one Base Hero rated 88 or lower, which means the best outcomes are Di Natale and Futre at 88, Stam and Córdoba at 87, and Matuidi and Ramires at 86. The price is dropping because fodder is: 84-rated cards were down to about 900 coins this morning after Rivals rewards, and Thursday night is usually the cheapest moment of the week for the big upgrade SBCs. It gets harder from Friday evening, when Road to the Knockouts is expected and demand for fodder picks up again.
Objectives: watch the FC Pro Open and earn a 5x 80+ pack
Thursday’s new objectives are mostly cosmetics, with one pack worth having:
- FC Pro Open Global Qualifier: two objectives for watching the broadcast on Twitch (EASPORTSFC) or YouTube (EASPORTSFCPRO), 5x 80+ Gold Players Pack, 9 days
- Movember: three objectives for the Movember kit and stadium items, 25 days
- Bundesliga x Playmobil Kit: three objectives, 8 days
- Daily and Weekly Objectives: refreshed, 10 SP a day and 750 SP for the week
Ending soon: Ghoul Fest, Phantom Playgrounds, the Ultimate Scream Puzzle Completionist and the Daily Knockout Tournament bonus all close around 6pm UK on Friday, and Hannibal’s Haunting (Hannibal badge and 150 Scream tokens) has 2 days left. Openda Road to the Knockouts SBC: the upgrade path leaked
At 18:11 CET AsyFutTrader posted an EA-style graphic of a Road to the Knockouts Loïs Openda SBC with its upgrade path, and FutSheriff followed at 18:16 with “coming as SBC soon”. EA has not shown it on its own channels, so treat it as leaked until the SBC appears in the game.

The graphic lists Lyon’s remaining Europa League league-phase games: Lillestrøm on 26 November, Union SG on 10 December, Jagiellonia on 21 January and Leverkusen on 28 January. The FUT Accountant said on stream that the card works as a super sub right away because of the pace and PlayStyles, but that the upgrade path gives you little to chase. Every Ultimate Scream player SBC is at its cheapest since release: Ojeda has gone from 29.5K on Wednesday night to 22K, Ampadu from 26.6K to 20.5K, and Reijnders from 72.6K to 55K on his last day.
