Max 88 Hero SBC: about 161K for one Base Hero
The Max. 88 Base Hero Upgrade gives a pack with one Base Hero rated 88 or lower. It is a single squad with a 140,000 squad score requirement. That is SBC points, not coins: the cheapest way to fill it costs about 158,000 to 161,000 coins in 84-rated fodder on launch night. You can do it once more after a 3-day refresh, and it expires in 6 days (Sunday 8 November).
| Detail | Max 88 Hero SBC |
|---|---|
| Cost | ~158K to 161K coins (140K squad score) |
| Reward | 1 Base Hero, 88 OVR or lower |
| Repeatable | Once more, refreshes every 3 days |
| Expires | Sun 8 Nov |
The best and worst pulls
EA does not publish the pool or the odds per player. If the pool is every Base Hero rated 85 to 88, the market prices (PS5) from Monday afternoon put these at the top and bottom:
| Hero | OVR | Pos | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blaise Matuidi | 86 | CDM | ~2.7M |
| Ramires | 86 | CDM | ~1.7M |
| Antonio Di Natale | 88 | ST | ~1.6M |
| Jaap Stam | 87 | CB | ~1.4M |
| Iván Córdoba | 87 | CB | ~928K |
| Jamie Carragher | 86 | CB | ~23K |
On those prices, about half of the 80 likely Heroes are worth more than the SBC costs. That sounds better than it is: the Max 87 Hero was untradeable, so expect the same here. You keep the player, you do not cash out. It is only worth it if you want a Hero for your team and can live with a Carragher.
The new 88-rated Heroes in the pool include Di Natale, Sneijder, Fàbregas, Tévez, Forlán and Kompany. Check your pull against all 80 likely Heroes in our Max 88 Hero SBC pull checker.
What the creators say
The FUT Accountant called the 140K requirement not terrible on his stream, and liked that the repeat keeps fodder in demand. His own quick build cost him about 175K, and he said completing it also gave him 40 Ultimate Scream tokens. AuzioMF also rated the price as not bad.
The first packs on stream were mostly losses. The Accountant pulled Tim Howard, McManaman and Rosický; Auzio hit Ledley King, worth 500K+, after a run of cheap Heroes. A few streams are no drop rate, but they match the maths above: most packs land under the cost.
- Fodder: 88-rated cards jumped from about 13.75K to 14.25K within minutes of the drop
- Tip: if you hold spare 84 to 88 fodder, the Accountant’s advice was to sell it while the Hero SBC lifts demand
1 of 3 79+ Gold Player Pick: a cheap, repeatable pick
The 1 of 3 79+ Gold Player Pick lets you choose one of three gold players rated 79 or higher. It costs about 3,000 coins (three 84s and a filler), can be repeated as often as you like and expires in 7 days. At that price it is a fodder recycler: most picks will be 79 to 82, but it is a cheap way to turn spare 84s into a chance at something better.
New league SBCs with a 2x Max 85 pack
Four new Foundations sets join the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 ones already live. Each has two challenges, one per league, and gives a bronze and silver players pack for each league plus a 2x Max 85 Gold Players Pack. All four are repeatable.
| League SBC | EA value | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Premier League & Barclays WSL | 9,000 | 10 bronze + 10 silver, 2x Max 85 pack |
| LALIGA & Liga F | 6,000 | 10 bronze + 10 silver, 2x Max 85 pack |
| Serie A & ROSHN Saudi League | 3,000 | 10 bronze + 10 silver, 2x Max 85 pack |
| MLS & NWSL | 3,000 | 10 bronze + 10 silver, 2x Max 85 pack |
The cheaper sets are the interesting ones if you need bronze and silver cards for evos or club chemistry. The Premier League set costs about 11K to complete in fodder.
No Soul Shall Pass: a free evo for goalkeepers
No Soul Shall Pass is a free evolution for goalkeepers rated up to 80 with at most 7 PlayStyles. It takes three matches in Squad Battles (Semi-Pro or higher), Rivals, Champions or Live Events, with no wins needed.
- Level 1 (1 match): +3 OVR (up to 81), +5 Diving, +6 Kicking, +5 Handling, +5 Reflexes
- Level 2, option A (2 matches): +10 Acceleration, +10 Sprint Speed, +5 Reactions, +5 Reflexes, Sweeper Keeper+
- Level 2, option B (2 matches): +5 Positioning, +2 weak foot, +3 Reactions, +5 Diving, Ball Playing Keeper+
Option A suits a keeper who rushes out, option B one who builds from the back. Either way it is three easy games for a better keeper, so do it with your best keeper under 80. All live evos are in our FC 27 evolutions hub.
