Monday’s 6pm UK / 7pm CEST drop in FC 27 Ultimate Team is built around one big SBC: a Max 87 Base Hero Upgrade for about 118,000 coins. You also get a cheap 1 of 3 79+ Gold Player Pick, the new Poor Sophia goalkeeper evolution and more Ultimate Scream build-up ahead of Friday.
| Drop | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Max. 87 Base Hero Upgrade | Upgrade SBC, one Base Hero rated 87 or lower, ~118k | Live |
| 1 of 3 79+ Gold Player Pick | Repeatable pick SBC, ~6.6k | Live |
| Poor Sophia | GK evolution, max 81 OVR | Live |
| Squad Battles: Champions points | 100 Champions Qualification Points | Live |
| Heart of the Pitch | Flash objectives, 83+ pack + evo unlock (2 days left) | Live |
There is no new promo batch tonight. Future Stars Team 2 and Star Performers are still in packs.
Max 87 Base Hero Upgrade SBC
One squad gives a Max. 87 Base Hero Pack: one Base Hero item rated 87 or lower. You can do it once, and it refreshes every 3 days, so you get another go before it expires.
- Cost: about 122,280 coins on fut.gg’s cheapest route (it climbed from about 116k during the evening). The cheapest mix is almost all 84 rares, so you need a lot of cards (138 on the cheapest route) or a few 85–86s to shorten it.
- Requirement: one challenge, squad rating only (min. 45 per player is the only player rule)
- Expires: in 6 days (Sunday 25 Oct)
- Repeatable: 1, refreshes every 3 days
AsyFutTrader posted the Base Heroes that can come out of the pack within a minute of the drop, with market prices:
Here is what some of the headline Heroes in the pool sell for on the market tonight:
| Player | Rating | Pos | Nation | Market price (fut.gg) | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blaise Matuidi | 86 | CDM | France | ~2.2M | Live |
| Ramires | 86 | CDM | Brazil | ~1.4M | Live |
| Jaap Stam | 87 | CB | Netherlands | ~1.3M | Live |
| Iván Córdoba | 87 | CB | Colombia | ~837K | Live |
| Gianfranco Zola | 87 | CAM | Italy | ~609K | Live |
Verdict: do it if you have the fodder. A Hero for about 118k is good value, because almost every Base Hero we checked sells for five times that or more. Keep in mind that SBC rewards are untradeable, so you are buying a player for your squad, not a profit. The fodder is the catch: a 118k squad of 84 rares pushes fodder prices up on the first night, so if you need to buy most of the squad, wait a day for the market to settle. The refresh after 3 days gives you a second chance before it expires.
1 of 3 79+ Gold Player Pick
A cheap, repeatable pick for about 7,050 coins. You choose 1 of 3 gold players rated 79 or higher. It is unlimited and runs for 7 days. Only worth it if you have spare low gold fodder in your club; the pick itself rarely pays back the coins.
Poor Sophia evolution
A new goalkeeper evo that is live for 10 days.
- Who: GK, max 81 OVR, max 7 PlayStyles, no PlayStyle+
- Upgrades: +5 OVR, +6 Positioning and +2 skill moves
- Example: fut.gg shows Barkas going from 75 to 80
The coin cost was not listed when we checked, so look in-game before you pay. It is a small boost for a backup keeper, nothing you need to rush.
New objectives
- Squad Battles: Champions Qualification Points (6 days): 100 points towards FUT Champions. See our FUT Champions rewards guide.
- Heart of the Pitch (flash event, 2 days left): a 4x 83+ Gold Players Pack and an Evo Unlock.
- Still running: Future Stars: Milton Delgado (4 days), Ultimate Gauntlet 2 (Enciso, Gruda, 4 days) and the Future Stars Academy objectives (14 days).

Pro Clubs: The Grounds Archetype change
EA confirmed a change to Player Archetypes in The Grounds. Attribute Point costs are being adjusted and the Attacking Positioning requirement is removed. All Attribute Points reset on Thursday 22 October at 2:00 AM PT (11:00 CEST). Your level and total AP stay the same, but you have to spend them again. Players who need to do that get 5,000 Club Coins and a 1.75x AXP multiplier for 6 matches.
What’s coming next: Ultimate Scream
Ultimate Scream is expected this Friday (23 October), the first promo slot after Season 2 starts. EA has not confirmed the date yet, so treat it as expected rather than confirmed. Leakers posted a stream of Ultimate Scream cards today (Cristiano Ronaldo, Cole Palmer, Raphinha, Szoboszlai and more), but most of them say the stats are predictions, not real cards.
Two things look more solid:
- Scream Swaps are coming. AsyFutTrader, FUT Sheriff and FutPoliceLeaks all posted a “Swaps are back” graphic this morning. FUT Accountant thinks it will simply be another token store, like Friends of Fantasy tokens in FC 26.
- Token rewards. Leakers say Juan Sebastián Verón (87 CAM, Argentina) is one of the token or objective rewards, with Scott (England) also mentioned.
Season 2 should start the day before, on Thursday 22 October, when the Champions Token Store also rolls over. Follow it in our Ultimate Scream hub and the FC 27 promo calendar.
Tonight in FC 27: FAQ
Is the Max 87 Base Hero SBC worth it?
Yes, if you have the fodder. At about 118k it is far cheaper than buying almost any Base Hero, but the Hero is untradeable, so you do it for your squad, not to sell.
Which Heroes are in the Max 87 Base Hero pack?
Any Base Hero rated 87 or lower. That includes Matuidi, Ramires, Stam, Córdoba and Zola. AsyFutTrader’s tweet above lists the full pool with prices.
When does Ultimate Scream start in FC 27?
It is expected on Friday 23 October at 6pm UK / 7pm CEST. EA has not confirmed it yet.
