FC 27 TOTW 7: the headliners
| Player | OVR | Pos | Nation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kylian Mbappé | 92 | ST | France |
| Gabriel Magalhães | 90 | CB | Brazil |
| Klara Bühl | 89 | LW | Germany |
| Georgia Stanway | 87 | CM | England |
| Victor Osimhen | 86 | ST | Nigeria |
| Sergej Milinković-Savić | 85 | CM | Serbia |
| Leonardo Balerdi | 83 | CB | Argentina |
| Paulina Dudek | 83 | CB | Poland |
| Andrej Kramarić | 83 | CAM | Croatia |
| Amalie Vangsgaard | 82 | ST | Denmark |
| Álex Berenguer | 81 | RW | Spain |
| Nicolas Jackson | 81 | ST | Senegal |
Mbappé’s in-form is a 92 ST with 97 pace, 92 shooting and 93 dribbling, and he has not shown up on the transfer market yet. FutPoliceLeaks and FUT Sheriff had him in the squad since Tuesday evening, and their list matched the final squad.
Gabriel’s 90 CB (92 DEF, 85 PHY) is the defender of the week. Bühl’s 89 has 86 pace, 87 shooting and 86 passing, and early sales put her around 500K. Osimhen sold for about 220K in the first minutes.
The 80-rated cards
The other eleven are 80s: Muslera (GK), James Hill (CB), Szymański (CM), Wael Mohya and Natasha Flint (CAM), João Guilherme (RW), Mathys Tel (LW), and strikers Douvikas, Vanat, Richard Koné and Kristian Lonebu. The cheapest went for about 10K in the first half hour, so they are SBC fodder for now. Tel (about 72K) is the exception.
Showdown SBC: Loftus-Cheek vs Carlos Augusto
The first Showdown of FC 27 puts two Serie A players from the Milan derby against each other: Ruben Loftus-Cheek (83 CM) and Carlos Augusto (83 LB). In game the match is listed as Milano FC vs Lombardia FC. Each card is a one-challenge SBC for about 27,000 coins and expires in 3 days.
| Showdown card | OVR | Pos | SBC cost | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ruben Loftus-Cheek | 83 | CM | ~27K | 3 days |
| Carlos Augusto | 83 | LB | ~27K | 3 days |
Showdown cards upgrade when their side wins the real match, so you are betting on the derby as much as buying a card. Early community votes favour Loftus-Cheek by about two to one. Only do the one you would use anyway, because a loss leaves you with a plain 83.
New upgrades, Boo Hoo Party and Bone Builder evo
Two new league upgrades went live: Ligue 1 & Arkema Première Ligue and Bundesliga & Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga. Each costs about 6,640 coins, has two challenges, is repeatable and gives a 2x Max 85 Gold Players Pack. Both run for 7 days.
- Boo Hoo Party: one challenge, about 4,250 coins, rewards an untradeable Large Electrum Players Pack, 9 days.
- Bone Builder evolution: for CBs with max 81 OVR and max 84 pace. It turns a defender into a ball-player: up to 82 OVR, +1 weak foot, +12 Short Pass, +14 Long Pass and +15 Vision over three levels. 10 days.
Bone Builder pairs well with the Showdown night: a cheap passing CB is what most squads lack this early. All live evos are in our FC 27 evolutions hub.
EA’s Gameplay Developer Notes: first changes in mid-November
An hour before the drop, EA published its October Gameplay Developer Notes. EA says it held back early gameplay changes this year, and that one month of match data shows more accurate shooting, more efficient passing and a wide spread of formations.
The first balance changes come in Title Update 1.2 in mid-November:
- Fullback positioning: fullbacks hold the line and track runs more consistently.
- Offside awareness: attackers stay onside more often.
- Attacking AI: more decisive runs into space around the box.
- Kick-off goals: the defensive line holds higher after kick-off.
- Loose-ball switching: fixes after slide tackles, headed passes and shots off target.
EA is also looking at high defensive lines, collisions between big and small players, and some shot types against goalkeeper positioning, with no promises yet. The gameplay team holds a live Q&A on EA’s Discord on Friday 30 October (EA’s tweet says 4pm GMT).
Career Mode: transfer request fix
At 18:55 CET EA also said it is testing a fix for Career Mode players who wrongly hand in transfer requests over playing time. It will be in “the next available Title Update”. Patch history is in our Title Update 1.1 patch notes.
