Which shot should you use?
- Inside the box, keeper set: low driven shot. It stays under the keeper’s hands and is the most reliable close range finish.
- Edge of the box, angled run: finesse shot to the far corner, ideally with a high Curve player on his strong foot.
- 20 to 30 yards with space: power shot. Aim with the left stick and stop around two and a half to three bars.
- Wide and cutting in on your weaker side: trivela, so the ball swerves away from the keeper.
- One on one, keeper rushing out: chip with light power.
- Ball in the air: volley or header, and only go for the bicycle kick with your back to goal.
Common shooting mistakes in FC 27
- Too much power. A full bar flies over from most positions. Less is usually more, on free kicks too.
- Shooting with a defender close. Power shots and trivelas have a wind up that is easy to block.
- The wrong shot for the distance. Low driven shots are for close range, and finesse from 30 yards rarely works.
- Ignoring the shooter. In FC 27 stats and PlayStyles decide more of the outcome than before, so check Finishing, Shot Power, Long Shots and Curve.
- Shooting on the weak foot. Get the ball onto the strong foot before you curl one.
What changed for shooting in FC 27
The controls are the same as in FC 26. The changes from EA’s FC 27 Gameplay Deep Dive are about who takes the shot:
- Low Driven PlayStyle: lost its extra shot speed. Pace now comes from the shooter’s attributes and the power you put in, and the PlayStyle still adds accuracy.
- Finesse Shot: player attributes play a bigger role, and spin, animation speed and off angle effectiveness scale with the shooter.
- Headers: clean headers from crosses and corners need more precision, but they are more accurate when you connect.
